Complimentary Hotel Breakfasts: The Hampton Inn Phoenix Glendale
There is nothing worse than traveling to an area you aren’t familiar with, and trying to find a place to stay. I have spent lots of time at Desert Mountain and Cave Creek in the Phoenix area, but this part of town was not familiar to me. So I spun the bottle, considered which brand I was loyal to, and this seemed to be the best choice.
If you are in to outlet malls - The Hampton Inn Phoenix and Glendale is a great choice -you can literally walk through the parking lot to them. But I was disappointed that they didn’t disclose that the hotel was being renovated and under construction, which not only affected the noise level, but gasp! the complimentary breakfast.
To get to the breakfast room you had to follow the signs through all of the construction to a room that seemed to have been already updated. There was nothing there that was fresh, only weird faux omelettes that I am sure came out of a freezer bag, sausage patties that were undercooked, and oatmeal that was so gummy I think it could have held my Mardi Gras costume together.
The coffee wasn’t hot, the creamer was incased in plastic, and the pastries looked like they would look the same a month from now.
It is times like this when afterwards, I weigh how much extra I paid to stay at a place that offered these breakfasts, and how much I could have saved to drive through a coffee shop and got a great coffee drink and breakfast for a lot less money.
