True To Food

The SKS Experience and Design Center

It’s true. Food can be enjoyed without using appliances, but it’s hard to enjoy an appliance without using food. You can have the best appliances in the world, but if you don’t know how to use them (or are intimidated by them) they are nothing but pretty placeholders.

True To Food

When Signature Kitchen Suite was started, their agency really did their homework to set SKS Appliances apart from the competition. Their tagline of “True to Food” and calling their culinary enthusiasts “Technicureans” is brilliant. They created something that immediately tells you what their brand is all about. As part of this, they do more than market all of the pretty bells, whistles, and buttons that their appliances have.

They have created a community where you can not only learn how to turn on your new range -even if you don’t know how to boil water, they guide you through easy recipes and processes that will get you excited about getting into the kitchen and cooking up fabulous creations for their family and friends.

Raise your hand if you have tried to embrace smart home technology but have had issues. Mine happened when I was making Thanksgiving dinner - I was using another brand’s appliances and their server went down so the small appliances that I had counted on were completely non-functional. Signature Kitchen Suite is the luxury appliance side of LG Appliances - a company that is known for its technology and customer service. Any Technicurean can take comfort in the fact that not only will they have access to the latest technology developments, but they also have a hotline and concierge service to call when things don’t go according to plan.

As a Lifestylist®, I really appreciate the lifestyle that SKS Appliances has created with their True To Food films and their Napa Experience and Design Center.

Highlighting artisans that celebrate food and even have Signature Kitchen Suite appliances in their own homes makes so much sense - they not only know how to turn it on, they know how special the appliances truly are.

Jean-Charles Boisset

I loved the film so much about Jean-Charles Boisset and The Boisset Collection I have become an ambassador for him. I love to share the story behind his wines and his beautiful wineries.

EDC To You Limoncello Box

This week the experience for me came full circle. I am honored to not only be a member of the SKS Design Council, but I am also part of the Designhounds which is about Real Connections. Real Influence. Real Results. Our head sleuth Veronika Miller does an amazing job of pairing brands with designers and influencers that want to really experience what a brand is all about. SKS has created “EDC To You” since for the past year they haven’t been able to bring people to their Napa EDC. They ship boxes of goodies to make amazing dishes at home with recipes from their talented executive chef Nick Ritchie. Everything is included, including a sous-vide wand for those of us who aren’t fortunate enough to have an SKS Pro range with sous-vide in our own homes (yet!).

There hasn’t been a recipe yet that I haven’t fallen madly in love with, and having Chef Nick goes through the entire process in a video before we start gives you the security to dive right in. Who knew that sous vide was the answer to making delicious cocktails like a Limoncello Spritzer and White Chocolate Bark? Be sure to visit their website to experience some of their recipes in your own kitchen.

The Designhounds were guided through making three appetizers this week with house-made crostini, and two beautiful wines from Gentleman Farmer Wines to enjoy with. It was the perfect start to a holiday weekend, and as always Chef Nick really makes cooking fun again. We also had the added treat of having Will and Susan Brinson of House of Brinson join us to share some wonderful styling and photography ideas so we can not only cook great meals with Signature Kitchen Suite, can also share beautiful photos of our creations on social media.

My biggest question is now with Napa opening up and we have all started traveling again, what will be on the horizon for Signature Kitchen Suite and the Designhounds? They both managed to stay more than relevant in this crazy year we have all been through, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for all of us!
