Moving At a Snails Pace

It feels so good to have this election almost behind us! No matter who you voted for, I all think we feel like our lives have been on hold for a while now.

Every day I feel like I’m not getting anything done, but in fact I have entered and won cooking contests at the State Fair of Texas, expended our Lifestylist Look store at Lula B’s Oak Cliff, and have even designed and opened a few online shops for our brand so it’s easier than ever to shop with us from the comfort and safety of your own home. I’ve always been the worst about mailing things, but now I’m going to the post office every day and loving it!

With all of the anger and judging going on, it has been really hard for me to put my thought in writing and to share them. I spend so much time overthinking if what I am saying and sharing is politically correct, and I don’t want to offend anyone so I stay silent. What’s crazy is that even though I am so careful about what I say and share, Twitter has banned me! I have no idea why, but they also are refusing to get back to me and tell me why.

But today is another day, and I feel like. a weight has been lifted off of me. I’m excited to turn off the television and to try new things again. I am thankful that The Home Idea Factory has given me plenty of room to work and dream without leaving my home. I’m trying to widen my focus and not overthinking things so much, and instead of taking thousands of photos and putting them away, sharing them.

This guy was making his way up the wall outside of my pool house. Two days later he hadn’t moved much - I know the feeling! But just like he wasn’t giving up, I’m not giving up either. Stay tuned, and I hope you’ll stay with me if I overshare or have an opinion that is different than yours - at least I’ll be sharing my opinions, and I hope that you feel free to share yours as well.
