A Room With a Veuve - SER at The Hilton Anatole

The view from SER Restaurant

The Hilton Anatole is a beautiful hotel just minutes from The Home Idea Factory but to be honest, I never thought of it as a destination for people who live in the area like myself.  Dallas is full of great dining and entertainment spots and I always think of hotel restaurants as places for people on expense accounts and underwhelming as far as what they offer.

I can happily say that not only has my opinion of what The Anatole offers changed, it's now the first place I think of to meet with friends for a drink after work or to go and have an evening of fun.

This year Sparkle! Christmas at the Anatole premiered, and it is the most fun I've had in ages. Skating, hot chocolate, bands, Santa and lights  -  all are there for a very reasonable fee.

When I was there I also learned about the Grande Dame Dinner that they were having on December 12th, and thought this would be a great test to see if their fine dining experiences could live up to my expectations.

The dinner was held in their SER Restaurant that has spectacular views of downtown Dallas. Service was impeccable, and the food was almost too pretty to eat, but we did. The courses were beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with the wines including a Ruinart Blanc de Blanc with Grilled Diver Scallops, Waygu Spinalis with foie gras "bon bons" paired with Beaulieu Vineyard Georges De Latour Cabernet Sauvignon, and of course the star of the show - Veuve Cliquot la Grande Dame paired with Valrhona Pot D'Creme.

Executive Chef Anthony Van Camp is definitely a rising star, and we are excited to see what he and the Anatole's new Director of Food and Beverage Saddiq Mir have in store for us in the future.  2014 is shaping up to be a great year to revisit the Anatole!
